Conimicut Point Recreation Area, Warwick: (City owned) Directions from Rt 95, exit Rt 37 east and get on Rt 1. Go south to light at Airport Rd. and turn left. Continue across intersection at junction of Rt 117/117A onto Shore Rd ( Rt 117). Continue to where the road starts swinging to the right. Go straight onto Bush Ave. ( not well marked) I you miss it take left at next road, Symonds Ave. Go one block to Point St., swing right and to the end of the road. This City Park is a multipurpose recreation area has boat access (see Shawomet Ave. below), fishing spots, picnic areas, several rights-of-way, and wonderful views of Narragansett Bay. The point extends as a sandy spit jetting out into Narragansett Bay towards Conimicut Lighthouse. On the north side of the point are CRMC Rights-of-Way off Shawomet and Bellman Avenues, but none are suitable for launching. The rotary at the point provides limited parking close to the beach. A sparse restroom (only open daytime, in season) and additional parking with 50 spaces are next to the grassy central park. The park is closed between sunset and sunrise. During the Summer there has been at times, an access fee of $3 per car for nonresidents.

Shawomet Ave. Boat Ramp: (CRMC designated public access, State owned.) At the end of Shawomet Avenue, and adjacent to Conimicut Point Recreation Area on the Upper Narragansett Bay, this boat ramp (more like a sandy beach) is suitable for hand-carried boats or for trailered boats with four-wheel-drive vehicles. There is parking available for approximately 10 vehicles on the sand and along the road. There is no fee for parking at this location. There are no sanitary facilities but sparse vegetation provides some limited discrete privacy.
