Castle Hill Cove, Coast Guard Station, Newport: (CRMC designation n/a) Directions from downtown Newport. Take signs to Ocean Drive. Follow route via Wellington, via Halidon, via Harrison, via Ridge Road, past the entrance to Castle Hill Coast Guard Station. Take right onto Coast Guard Drive (still following directions to Ocean Drive). Take slight jog onto Collins Beach Road which is the access to the Castle Hill restaurant. The launch sight will be seen to the right down by the cove. This site is a rocky dirt shoreline suitable for hand launching only. Parking regualtions at the Castle Hill Coast Guard Station are not known. Cars not going up to the restaurant are not allowed to park in their parking lot. There is a portable toilet next to the launch site.
